LOIS MORTON – singer/songwriter guitarist and pianist – clever songs drawing on folk and classical traditions for fun and inspiring conviction; songs published in Broadside upon encouragement from Pete Seeger. accompanied by BILLY THOMPSON (a.k.a. Wild Bill) appearing also as Mild Bill – plays with Thompson, Matland, & Shaw, The Hudson Dusters, others; formerly with The Senders and sat in regularly with Little Buster and the Soul Brothers.
JANIE LYNCH – poet and a cappella singer – an activist since the mid ’80s, occupied Rep. McGrath’s office in 1990 to protest U.S. support for the military government of El Salvador; recently took the PeaceSmiths bus to the March on Washington to stop the war on Iraq; teaches World Literature – has read at school poetry festivals and sung at open mics – this is her debut booked singing appearance!
ACID RAYZ – avant garde band – Larry Copal, Susan Mitchell, and Nick Maxwell; emotional, innovative use of guitars, voice, violin and an odd assortment of percussion instruments, with special effects designed to shake up audiences; frequently at clubs around NYC – first LI appearance! http://www.myspace.com/acidrayz
