Protesting against Guantanamo, and the suicide on Wednesday of a Saudi Arabian prisoner who had been held there, a small group from Witness Against Torture held a vigil in the 90 degree heat in New York City’s Times Square.
Some 380 prisoners are being held at Guantanamo, some for five years. Witness Against Torture www.witnesstorture.org has been working for over a year to close down Guantanamo and end the use of torture by the US. For information on how you can join the campaign, visit the web site.
