George Wallace is author of 14 chapbooks and 2 CDs of poetry, published in the US , UK and Italy , including the award-winning “Burn My Heart In Wet Sand.” Editor of Poetrybay (www.poetrybay.com), Polarity (www.poembeat.com), Poetryvlog and other literary publications, he studied as an undergraduate at Syracuse University with WD Snodgrass and Donald Justice, and as an MFA candidate at Pacific University with Dorianne Laux and Marvin Bell. Wallace regularly performs his poetry in the New York area as well as nationally at Woodstock ‘s Colony Cafe, Fort Lauderdale ‘s Center for the Book, San Francisco ‘s Beat Museum and Ventura ‘s Sea Breeze; and tours Europe frequently, performing from London , Liverpool and Belfast to Rome , Athens and Paris . He has conducted poetry workshops worldwide at many universities and writers’ retreats; and has made festival appearances at Lowell Celebrates Kerouac, Insomniacathon/Louisville, The Dylan Thomas Centre/Swansea, Howlfest and the Woody Guthrie Festival in Okemah, Ok. In 2003 George Wallace was named first Poet Laureate for Suffolk County , NY .

Patti Tana is Professor of English at Nassau Community College and associate editor of the Long Island Quarterly. She is author of seven books of poetry, most recently Make Your Way Across This Bridge: New & Selected Writings (Whittier Publications, 2003) and This Is Why You Flew Ten Thousand Miles (Whittier Publications, 2006). She is also the editor of a new anthology of poems by sixty-three women, Songs of Seasoned Women, forthcoming from Quadrasoul, Inc.

*Yolanda Coulaz is a poet, photographer, editor, and founder of Purple Sage Press. She teaches poetry workshops to middle and high school students throughout Long Island . She edited and published the anthology For Loving Precious Beast to help benefit Loving Touch Animal Rescue. Her first book of poetry Spirits and Oxygen has been acquired by SUNY Stony Brook to be used in an advanced course in poetry.
