Last weekend, my husband Ian and I went on an adventure to Reading, PA, to volunteer with the Jennaro Pullano for Mayor Campaign. While we were there, we had the pleasure of meeting Jennaro’s running mate: Teresa Valentin for City Council.
Teresa is a mother of 5 wonderful children, age 14 to 23 years old. Most of them helped us walk door-to-door on the campaign trail, and all of her children are supporting her campaign in various ways. It was truly fun to experience.
Teresa has worked as a Spanish translator, a paralegal, and as a civil defense shelter manager in Puerto Rico through eight hurricanes.
Teresa’s campaign literature states: “I believe that our government needs to change. A change of approach that focuses more emphasis on the overall people it represents, using its resources for our well-being, in an efficient and responsible way. My volunteer work, and my way of life, provide me a sympathetic vision to the needs and possibilities of a large part of our community…It is a vision that embraces the understanding that the security of our streets starts in healthy and secure homes.”
If you live in Reading, on Tuesday, Novemeber 6th, 2007, you can vote for Teresa Valentin for City Council in District 5.
