New Yorker Jeffrey Deskovic was 17 when a jury found him guilty of a murder hedid not commit. If the jury knew then that DNA evidence did not match Deskovic, how did this happen? Why did it take 16 years and the intervention of the Innocence Project for him to be released? What does Jeffrey’s story mean for capital punishment in New York State? What can we do to ensure that more innocents like Jeffrey do not suffer wrongfully behind bars?
