- It seems that Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi is barnstorming upstate counties to give his stump speech on taxes. I still believe in my prediction that Suozzi’s inscrutable 2006 Democratic Primary challenge for Governor against then-AG Eliot Spitzer was a run-up to seek US Sen. Hillary Clinton’s seat if she moves back to DC. Though one wag commented that Suozzi still might have a shot at Governor since Spitzer might be a 1-termer.
- Another theory about why Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone has scheduled the vast majority of Town Board meetings during the day, when working people can’t make it, is the rumor that he has taken on a second job of teaching st St Joseph’s College.
