The Green Party of Suffolk invites everyone to showcase their artistic talent and their
commitment to ending Global Warming by entering this poster contest. The contest will help us to achieve our goal of ending the Global Warming quickly.
There are 4 categories for entries:
Category 1: Fifth Grade and under
Category 2: Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade
Category 3: Ninth Grade through Twelfth Grade
Category 4: Adult
The winners in each category will each receive a $25 prize. There is no entry fee. We hope you will participate in this worthwhile event and look forward to working with you!
Please read the poster contest rules carefully, as only posters that meet the contest rules will be considered. All artwork submitted becomes the property of the Green Party of Suffolk, and may be reproduced.
Eligibility: Everyone is eligible.
Theme: End Global Warming
Poster Requirements: Posters must be the contestant’s own original artwork. Copyrighted characters (such as Superman) or copyrighted clip art will not be accepted.
Materials: Contestants may use any media. Keep in mind most posters will likely be on public display, and should be easy to see or read.
Judging Procedure: Each poster must have the Release Form securely fastened to the back of the poster. A poster not accompanied by a completed Release Form will not be eligible for further judging.
The posters, with Release Forms, must be mailed or delivered by April 9, 2008 to:

Judging Criteria:
1. Clear message conveyed by the text and artwork;
2. The poster theme listed above is addressed;
3. Creativity, originality and artistic quality;
4. Visual clarity – easily read.
The results of the contest will be announced at the Green Party of Suffolk Earth Day 2008 fundraiser. Attendance is not required.
The theme of the 2007 Green Party of Suffolk post contest was “End the Iraq War – Bring Home Our Troops”
The 2007 winners were:
In the under 18 category: David A. Komorowski of Miller Place.
In the 18 and over: Alberto C. Castro of Tennessee.
Honorable Mention: Maya Gouw of South Setauket.
(The categories have been expanded in 2008.)
