to see
a ghost
by the side
of the road
driving home
montauk highway
slower
more scenic
sometimes
I just get
a feeling
it will be
less traffic
than
sunrise highway
especially
when I can
make a left
out
of work
half way
where
Lindenhurst
meets
West Babylon
almost
where the
wetlands
and
canals
meet the
politicians
taking credit
for spending
our money
the bait shop
used to be
a drive-in
restaurant
maybe
it was
just shadows
in the rain
on the edge
of the sidewalk
a gray figure
not standing there
