John Edwards cancels Hofstra event
Former Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards is canceling all public appearances until after the November election — including a Monday [9/8/2008] event at Hofstra University — because he doesn’t want to be “a distraction.”…
Edwards, who had been scheduled to appear at Hofstra with his wife, Elizabeth, has been avoiding the spotlight and canceling individual speeches since he admitted in a television interview last month that he had cheated on his wife with a campaign videographer and lied about it. The aide later had a child, but Edwards has denied he is the father of the baby…
