more live blogging from the hofstra campus – walking from the end, slow down of peace demo and public area we went west towards our alumni viewing on south campus. over there, on the tip of where peace demo had been permited as night fell, a different crowd gathered – or maybe they had stayed. one group – apretty nice size – had signs and lit for gloria la riva. la riva is on the ballot in ny on the psl line. party for socialism and liberation. they did a wise, just, though long and confusing chant – we are black, latino, something, caucasion and white against racism. it was gettig tense to me because it was dark out, there were police on horseback and a lot of people shouting. back to screening – a recently retire political professor is speaking. he is okay. said obama is ahead and it is like a football game obama has to hold the ball and run down the clock. the alumni affairs guy polled the audience. he only said obama or mccain then undecided. so I called out cynthia mckinney and raised my hand. I think only one person really knew who she was, but she was reallt into it and said she will talk to us later. there are about 120 people in the theatre we are in. I think a small majority raised hands for obama.
