The Long Island Music Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) museum and membership
organization dedicated to the idea that Long Island’s musical heritage
is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future
generations. The organization defines Long Island geographically rather
than politically – Kings, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties – and was
created to inspire *exploration and celebration of music in all its
forms and where the music community will find the support, resources and
leadership necessary to aid them in that exploration. The Hall of Fame
sponsors the Long Island Sound Award, traveling educational exhibits,
has developed a scholarship program and is creating a museum home in
Port Jefferson where the story of the Island’s *musical heritage will be
told. For more information about the Gala and Long Island Music Hall of
Fame, please visit their website at http://limusichalloffame.org/.
