Amy King edits the Poetics List, sponsored by The Electronic Poetry Center (SUNY-Buffalo/University of Pennsylvania), moderates the Women’s Poetry Listserv (WOMPO) and the Goodreads Poetry! Group, and teaches English and Creative Writing at SUNY Nassau Community College. www.Amy King.org Her poems have been nominated for several Pushcart Prizes, and she has been the recipient of a MacArthur Scholarship for Poetry. I am that love you light yourself with
and my gender is powerless in this.
We are metered only by our own machines,
while the book is a clock that forgets her mechanics.

Babylon Green Party Gatherings are held on the first Wednesday of every month:
- The March 4, 2009 Gathering will feature Camillo “Mac” Bica, the Coordinator of Veterans for Peace of Long Island speaking about the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- The April 1, 2009 Gathering will feature Scott Carlin, the founder of the Long Island Climate Solutions Network speaking about Global Warming: How Immediate is the Crisis?
- The May 6, 2009 Gathering will review Obama’s First 100 days from a Green Party Perspective with former Green Party of New York State Co-Chair Ian Wilder
The Green Party is an alternative party to the Democrats and Republicans. The four pillars of the Green Party are: Nonviolence/Peace; Grassroots Democracy; Social and Economic Justice; and Ecological Wisdom.
