There were many arrests at the G-20 economic meeting protests in Pittsburgh yesterday. There is a video going around that says it is of a sudden arrest of a demonstrator from the G-20. I am currently seeking information such as the name of the person arrested or his friends. But, people on youtube are asking questions about the validity. Will keep you posted.
In the meantime, some people were definitely arrested. And, there was an appalling military and police presence to guard this meeting of international, elitist scoundrels, trying to decide things without the masses present.
The National Lawyers Guild provided a warning, before the thing started, that the government was creating the background for problems. That article is: here.
It was probably unnecessary to have 2,000 National Guard soldiers and a 4,000-officer police force to keep American citizens from expressing themselves to economic leaders. (And, imagine what that cost? Can’t we make them hold the meeting somewhere else? Like America isn’t in enough financial trouble?)
