KW: Recently re-elected Brookhaven Councilperson Keith Romaine died this morning. It is sad on a variety of levels…he was young; he had just worked hard in a campaign; and his dad is Ed Romaine, a Republican lawmaker who has been very cordial and listening to local greens.

Brookhaven Councilman Keith Romaine dies

Brookhaven Town Public Information Officer Kevin Malloy reported today that Councilman Keith Romaine (R-Center Moriches) died this morning after a brief illness. Romaine had just won re-election to a second term Nov. 3 and participated in the most recent Town Board meeting on Nov. 10, although he looked pale and did not join his colleagues in front of the dais to present two proclamations.
Romaine, 36, was reportedly suffering from pneumonia for at least several days and died from complications. Malloy said the councilman, single with no children, sought treatment Wednesday…
The councilman was the son of Suffolk County Legislator Ed Romaine (R-Center Moriches)…
