Green Party efforts to draft Ralph Nader into a Senate run against Chris Dodd has created quite a buzz across the internet in just a few days ,as hundreds have signed an online petition to work for work for him and over a thousand have joined a social networking site on “Facebook” asking Nader to run.
Green Party Spokesperson Tim McKee explained
When asked by reporters, if he would run, Nader said he was judging the level of interest and support for a run..In over thirty years of political activism, I have never seen such a huge and quick growth in a matter of days, and over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, as well!
McKee added:
This is an amazing start for us. People from both Connecituct and all across the country have plegded to work so many hours a week, services and money if he runs. In a modern twist, some people from differnet states have pledged to call using their free cell phone times and work the internet.
“We view this as just “seed donations” to spur on other donations and show Nader and his supportters the growing interest that will explode if he does run, and runs to win.” McKee said.
Nader has not committed to run for Senate and will be on a book tour in the New York, and New Jersey this weekend and is expected to answer quesitions again at those events.

From the West Hartford News:
“Nader said his declaration to run isn’t dependent on just him, but whether people from around the state are going to be willing to work and put together a grassroots campaign.
He said it is hard for him at this point to truly gauge the political field for a run.
He isn’t sure if people want him to run just because they’re upset with the two incumbent senators or whether there is an actual force out there that will work in 169 towns in Connecticut”
