The Bare Bones Repertory Company will present its first reading of 2011 at 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 27th with “I Forgive You, Ronald Reagan“, a controversial new play by John Asastasi. It’s the story of Ray De Luso, a highly decorated Vietnam vet who – retired from military service-has built a career as a passionately committed air traffic controller.
When Ronald Reagan assumes the presidency early in 1981, one of his first decisions as Chief Executive is to condemn an announced strike by the air traffic controllers’ union and threaten the
immediate firing of all employees who fail to report to work the next morning.
Ray makes a life-altering decision that day which shakes the foundations of his world and, twenty years later, continues to eat away at every relationship that once gave purpose and meaning to
his life.
