IW: We spent the last year culling through my parents’ archives. Both of my parents were activists. My mother was very much a letter-writer. She was very involved with the League of Women Voters in the early 70s, and spent a lot of time lobbying elected officials. Unfortunately, I do not have her letters in favor of a woman’s right to choose at the time of Roe v. Wade. But I do have NY Assembly Speaker Perry Duryea’s response.
