Newsday reported that people saw the pod of 200 dolphins:
-Latest sighting: Saturday 8/13/2011 in Huntington Harbor
-near Bayville on Wednesday8/10/2100
-in Hempstead Harbor on Thursday and 8/11/2011
-in Smithtown Bay on Friday 8/12/2011
Comment from Kimberly: The dolphin sighting reminds me of the idea that…It is frustrating to see nature harmed, and trees chopped down to build parking lots, factories, and houses. Though…nature is resilient. And, life happens in cycles. So, there is always hope for pavement to crumble and the grass and tress to grow back. Think of that whenever you look at a Walmart! And, think of the fact that lots of dolphins could someday come back to and hang out in our waters if we work on the environment and strive to be more sustainable.
