Two interesting updates:
In NYC:
The Occupy Wall Street folks have branched out to Washington Square Park (about 3o blocks away). It appears they will try to have two occupation/encampments in NYC.
The NYPD seems to think that Washington Square Park closes at midnight tonight, Saturday 10/8/2011. The NYCL seems to think it closes at 1am. And, some protester seem intent on staying overnight.
Story at The NY Times: here.
In DC:
A group of protesters, I believe loosely connected to the spirit of the occupations, wanted to enter the Smithsonian Air and Space Musem to protest an unmanned military drone exhibit. Guards would not let them enter, and pepper sprayed at least one person. That story at Reuters: here.
