We mourn and resist the ravages of war:
The loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, military and civilian.
The squandering of our public treasure: the wasting of trillions of dollars on immoral and illegal wars, consuming funds for jobs, education, health care, environmental health, veterans’ services and other urgent needs.
The devastation of the environment and infrastructure of Iraq and Afghanistan, and the displacement of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan civilians fleeing violence.
The use of torture and other assaults on human rights.
Increased levels of poverty and income disparity.
The enormous profits reaped by corporations that advance the war agenda.
