What’s happening in New York State now, regarding the US President 2012 campaign? The major party conventions are coming up soon. The other ballot access parties — such as Working Families — have made, or will soon make, their decisions. Currently, petitions are filed (but not approved) for independent nominating groups — such as Socialist Party USA.

(Not on the ballot will be The Socialist Party USA. They filed Independent Nominating Petitions. But, they filed so few pages, the state rejected them. No one had to challenge them.)
(Also, the deadline has passed for Independent Nominating Petitions in NY State. So, no, new third party or independent candidates can get on the 2012 NYS ballot for President. People may only register as write-in candidates.)
