Amityville Village recently held their local elections. For those of you who know me, you are probably aware that I am always a little interested in what happens to the characters over in Amityville. -KW
Amityville Village held their 2013 elections for Mayor and Trustees.
Of three people running for Mayor, the winner was a newcomer to the board. He defeated two other people, both of whom were trustees.
Peter Casserly was a trustee, with time left in his term. Now that he has lost for Mayor, Peter Casserly has resigned as trustee, saying he wants to let the new Mayor fulfill his mandate. Peter Casserly was supported by Suffolk Democratic Party leader Richard Schaffer. Some people may know Peter Casserly from his tenure in the Town of Babylon Zoning Department, and Casserly’s handing of cell tower placement.
It is all very interesting.
