About this event:

We are facing a constitutional crisis, and we need Congressman LaLota to listen to his constituents’ concerns.

Since taking office, LaLota has never held an in-person townhall and has trivialized his constituents’ needs and concerns – both in national media and with his lack of real results for the people of Congressional District NY-01. Join your friends and neighbors as we raise our voices and demand that Congressman LaLota show up in his district and have an in-person town hall gathering to hear directly from the people.

Congressman LaLota has an obligation to all his constituents to take their concerns seriously – scripted or unscripted – and fight back against the takeover of our government and assault on our communities.

Join members of Assemble Long Island, Engage Long Island, Long Island Network for Change (LINC), Show Up Long Island (SULI), Suffolk Progressives, and 50501 Movement for this urgent rally.

We’ll meet by the street in front of 515 Hauppauge Road in Hauppauge to rally, hear from speakers, and demand that LaLota listen.

In several place on Long Island and at Union Square in NYC, there are other rallies concerning saving our democracy and fighting back against MAGA. We will try to list and update here. But, please check with your activist and progressive friends and see what you can find out.

I believe that on Long Island, the Hauppauge event is the longest publicized and may be the biggest.

Addendum from Kimberly: Here is what I wish we could call for: Defund Elon Musk! (That means us to boycott, Congress to fire, Anyone in government to help get him out of our databases!); Fire Mayor Eric Adams (so he cannot be a puppet and/or hostage of The Orange One’s agenda); Make LaLota support the rule of law and proper process in government; tell all Conservative politicians to follow their stated values and stop being MAGA hypocrites!!!!!!
