Kimberly writes: Now they are saying that there may be up to 200 dolphins swimming around the Long Island Sound. (It’s hard to count because some are above water and some below as they take turns getting air.) And, the original pod has split up into at least two different groups. Scientists say the dolphins are hunting herring, and their behaviors all seem normal.
I am going to go on adventure today and try to get a photo from the shore. Below are some latest sightings. One of the links has a great photo, the other a (very short) video:
On Saturday, June 27th they were spotted at Hempstead Harbor near Glen Cove.

On Sunday, June 28th, some dolphins were spotted near Oak Neck Point and Rocky Point in Bayville.
Also, on Sunday, June 28th at 8:30pm some dolphins were spotted in King’s Point (which is the northern tip of Town of Hempstead on the Great Neck Peninsula in Nassau County, Long Island.)

On Sunday, Newsday had reported that the dolphins were headed for City Island in the Bronx.
