Richard Winger to Debate California Lt. Gov. Maldonado on Proposition 14
Richard Winger, the nation’s leading ballot access expert, will participate in an hour-long debate with Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado, author of California’s Proposition 14, the “top-two” ballot measure, on Monday, May 10, at [12 noon EST] 9am Pacific Time.
The first five minutes of the program will include remarks from Professor Eric McGhee, author of last February’s report on the top-two open primary for the Public Policy Institute of California. The second half of the debate is expected to include questions from callers, as well as inquiries submitted by e-mail.
The debate will be aired live from the studio of KQED 88.5 FM, the public radio station in San Francisco.

KW writes: I have great respect for Richard Winger of Ballot Access News, and agree with him on nearly all election issues, including this one. Richard Winger thinks that Top-Two is a bad idea, and that it will hurt third parties.
