Join Ralph Nader and Howie Hawkins for a Green Party fundraiser Oct. 20th. Consumer advocate and former Green Party Presidential candidatel Ralph Nader will join current Green Party of New York Governor candidate Howie Hawkins in Albany on Wednesday October 20th from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at a fundraiser at My Linh restaurant, 272 Delaware Ave, Albany (next to the Spectrum Movie Theatre.)
There is a suggested donation of $25 payable to Hawkins 2010. For reservations, contact Peter LaVenia at mactyler42@yahoo. com or 463-8063. There will be a cash bar. Food may also be purchased.
Hawkins, the only union member running for statewide office, is calling for a Green New Deal to provide jobs to all New Yorkers and to make health care a right through a state single payer, Medicare for All program. By halting the rebate of the $16 billion stock transfer tax to Wall Street speculators and making the rich pay their fair share of taxes, Hawkins would createa $25 billion surplus to invest in jobs, a rapid transition to a carbon free economy, lower property taxes and education funding. Hawkins website is www.howiehawkins. org.
