Though, since I did not appreciate all the sentiments in her lyrics, I never focused on her so much. I did wonder what about the way her voice and music just woke me up and made me identify. P.S. Notice that Russell Brand’s comments are about seeing Amy on stage with other great musicians. That is part of why she was the real deal, and part of a jazz scene. Amy Winehouse knew it was not about one person and a voice, she surrounded herself with excellent musicians. I love how her stage sets and her videos reflect an appreciation of the instrumentalists around her.
