Well, not here, so much.
I mean, here and there we might post a story about our Green Party candidates speaking outside the convention, or really good demonstrations that raise important issues. But, in many ways, I figure, let the Democrats have their convention. Just like the Green Party wanted to hold our convention in peace, and pick our candidates our way with our members, I think that Green Party members should probably let the Democrats have their convention. So, I see the protests as more important for grassroots Democrats, or others who believe in the two-party system as redeemable.
Sill, it is exciting. And, since, at the end of the day, the Democrats will be part of the government which controls us (either through a Democratic President, or through Democratic Congresspeople), guess someone should be watching them, lobbying them and challenging them.
So…
So, if you are really into it, and need tons of minute-by-minute coverage of what they are doing over there in Denver, please consider alternative media sources such as the ones below.
And, at wilderside will post here and there about exciting happenings. Especially if they levitate the Denver Mint, or find a way to tear down The Freedom Cage…
Don DeBar’s Youtube site:

Don DeBar is a progressive activist from NY who hangs around and supports Greens and other progressive movements. He was the first one I noticed who got the Cynthia speech at Recreate ’68 up on Youtube.
Great coverage and mention of Cynthia McKinney! At WBAI.org radio, 99.5FM in NYC, and the national news show from there Democracy Now! In the New York Metro area, you can hear Democracy now on 99.5 FM at 9am each weekday morning, also in the evening on WUSB Stony Brook 90.1 FM, as well as on various Public Access TV Shows in Manhattan and Long Island.

I just learned of this today. So, I am not giving them some heartfelt endorsement. But, they had a list of somewhat progressive and somewhat alternative web-sites and blogs for convention coverage. (Including Democracy Now!) Might be worth finding an outlet you would like to follow.

You always figure the people on the ground will have an interesting perspective. I saw some stories about activist arrests there that I had not seen in other places. Probably worth a look.
And, remember, don’t spend too much time worrying about the Democratic leaders. They really don’t care what you think. If you want to go visit them and bring your message, they will put you in what many activists are calling the “Freedom Cage.” Some things remain the same. Here is my rant about how the Democratic Party handles Free Speech at their conventions: Wilderside Story

Thanks for the link. For the record, I’m an Oklahoma Green (I’ve been a Green since the mid-80’s), though I’m supporting Obama for president this year, as are some other OK Greens. We are not on the ballot here, and don’t have any chance of being on the ballot anytime soon (check Ballot Access News for the long and sordid history), so to some extent, my rationale is based in localism and pragmatism — I’m much more able to make actual progressive change — however small — in Oklahoma by working with the Dems.
