I am writing to ask for your help in the next two weeks to collect petition signatures for my campaign for US Senate and the rest of the Green Party slate (all five of us are slated on the same petition, which must be submitted Aug. 22).
While it is clear that we will collect more than the 15,000 signature legal minimum needed to qualify for the November ballot, it is not yet clear we will collect at least 30,000, which is the minimum needed to be safe from a challenge to our petition by our corporate-sponsored political opponents.
It is vital that there be a strong antiwar challenge to Hillary Clinton on the November ballot. We need to challenge her pro-war actions on Iraq, Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon; her opposition to national health insurance; her being a “climate
change no-show” (as a Boston Globe editorial called her); and her opposition to a new independent investigation into the murder of 3,000 people on 9/11/2001.Yours for peace and justice,
Howie Hawkins
