Suffolk Legislator Jon Cooper wants to create an eco-park in Suffolk, but has not sited it yet. The Town of Babylon got the old OBI property in a deal with Suffolk County to overdevelop it with a hotel and a catering hall. Please call your legislator and tell them you would like the county to take back Oak Beach Park to put the Eco-park there. You can contact them at www.co.suffolk.ny.us/legis/

Suffolk County Legislator Jon Cooper’s (D-Huntington) resolution to establish an Ecology and Technology Park (Eco-Tech Park) in Suffolk County has been approved. The park is expected to be unique in comparison to other county parks, as it will provide a hands-on learning environment within a serene park setting. While a site has not yet been chosen, the enthusiasm for the formation of the park is already growing, as the possibilities are “unlimited,” according to Cooper.
