Green Party of New York State Governor candidate Malachy McCourt interviewed democracy advocate Granny D for WBAI at the Clearwater Festival Great Hudson River Revival. Malachy was assisted by WBAI Regional Roundup host Don Debar. Malachy also interviewed members of the Climate Crisis Coalition . Later in the day, Malachy received cheers from a packed audience when he made an appearance on the Rainbow Stage with his friends from the band Black 47.
The Green Party of New York State (GPNYS) had a booth in the activist section of the Clearwater Festival. There was literature from all of the GPNYS Peace Slate candidates and other items of interest including a petition to the UN, and picture-making for children. In addition to governor candidate Malachy McCourt, there were appearances at the Green Party booth by GPNYS US Senate candidate Howie Hawkins; GPNYS Lt. Governor candidate Alison Duncan; and GPNYS Comptroller candidate Julia Willebrand. WBAI host Don Debar interviewed Hawkins, Duncan and Willebrand.
Also at the GPNYS table, were current GPNYS Co-Chair Ian Wilder, former GPNYS Chair Craig Seaman; Malachy Campaign Treasurer Kimberly Wilder; Michelle Daniels, a staff member of the Rachel Treichler for Attorney General campaign; and Hawkins' Campaign Manager Sally Kim.
