RV CALIFORNIA FATHER’S DAY RAG

willow creek ca jun 17 2007) –father’s day 2007 i’m three thousand miles from hom but thanks to tamara jenkinson, who organized my visit, i had a wonderful poetry reading at winnett vineyards, in willow creek, last night, and like never before catching the feel of northern california, a backdrop of vineyards and mountains and the setting sun and today it’s a chili cook-off at the firehouse and i hope to be a judge, otherwise i’ll head down to humboldt bay, thirty miles west, that’s eureka, it’s a shallow odd bay, oddly mottled with chopping clay-colored waves and an unparalleled oyster growing region, there’s a two day oyster fest on there, in arcata i think, and that might just be the thing!
