It is overdue. We developed S.T.O.P in 1988 but the town stopped this valuable program soon after it began. Steve Bellone was waiting for a grant totaling $30,000 TO BRING THIS PROGRAM BACK, yet the town rubber-stamps millions of $ for fire depts without audit. The town expected small business gas stations to take old gasoline into their shops. People told me they were forced to dump old oil and gas into the sewer systems. We need this program to stay, this time. Thankfully it is here, now. I will be there with an overflowing stack of pollutants waiting for this day for years.
