Tomorrow, at the 6 o’clock am hour on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York City, Jim Krivo will interview Suffolk County Executive candidate Ahmad Ali Mitchel-El. The show is called “Wake Up Call” and is on from 6am to 9am.
Mitchel-El is running for County Executive on the Green Party line. The discussion will include background on the immigration situation in Long Island. Many people and organizations in Long Island have called for the creation of a Hiring Hall for day laborers. But, County Executive Steve Levy has been anti-immigrant and against the Hiring Hall concept. Recently, there was a battle when the Black Hispanic Caucus in the New York State Legislature threatened to veto a request by Levy for a sales tax increase unless Levy would address the need for hiring sites.
