Long Island Music Hall of Fame Seeks 2008 Music Educator of Note Nominees
Award Will Be Presented at the 2nd Induction Gala on October30 at the Garden City Hotel
The Long Island Music Hall of Fame has announced that it is accepting nominations for its 2008 Music Educator of Note Award. The award will be presented at the 2nd Induction Gala on Thursday, October 30 at the Garden City Hotel.
Tom Needham, Chairman of LIMHOF’s Education Advisory Board says, “Recognizing that education is the key to the development of musicians,we are interested in celebrating the work of those who allow young
people to explore their talents. The recipient of the Music Educator of Note Award will be someone who has worked with children in public, private or regional programs. Following the initial nomination the committee will seek additional information incorporating the references of students, colleagues, parents and administrators.”
All nominations must be received by July 1, 2008.

The 2007 recipient of the award was Herbert A. Deutsch, Chairman of the Music Department at Hofstra University from 1973-79 and 1995-2001.
