Activists plan anti-war ‘mall tour’
By CarlCorry / News 12 My Town | 06/17/2008 11:09 AMSeeking to build on newfound notoriety gained after the headline-making arrests of peace protesters at the Smith Haven Mall in March, an anti-war group is planning a summer-long “mall tour” to express opposition to the Iraq war.
The tour…will begin at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station on June 28. [Sat. June 28th at 2pm to 3:30pm]
Janet Egan, a former sociology professor from Huntington who is helping to organize the tour, said a fellow activist came up with the idea on the half-joking premise that “Britney Spears does mall tours, so why don’t we?”
