Former congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has been tapped as the presidential candidate of the Green Party, winning majority support several weeks ago at the prominent third party’s national convention in Chicago.
McKinney, who lives in Georgia, will appear on the ticket alongside Rosa Clemente, a community activist and journalist from the South Bronx.
As ideas of sustainability, global responsibility and economic reform gain more mainstream acceptance, the pair plans to capitalize on changing moods. Green philosophy, they insist, is the imperative — not the alternative.
