Challenges and Opportunities for Southampton’s Diverse Workforce 8/21/08

Town of Southampton Anti-Bias Task Force Presents:

“What are the Challenges and Opportunities for Southampton’s Diverse Workforce?”: Employer and Employee Perspectives

The Town of Southampton Anti-Bias Task Force (ABTF) invites the public to an educational evening, Thursday, August 21st, 5:30-8:30, to learn about the challenges and opportunities facing employers and employees in the Town of Southampton’s diverse workforce. The event will be held at The Town Annex in Hampton Bays, 25 Ponquogue Avenue, Thursday, August 21, 2008, 5:30-8:30. Please RSVP to the Anti-Bias Task Force hotline at (631) 702-1922 by August 17th.

The ABTF has teamed-up with ERASE Racism to advance equality in the workplace by promoting education, stimulating dialogue, building awareness and connecting people.

The panel discussion “Appreciating the Role of Diversity to Achieve a Successful Workplace” will feature local employers and employees discussing their experiences with diversity in their places of business. Representatives from government, healthcare, local business and public service sectors will be featured.

Among the discussion items will be how graduates of the Erase Racism Core Training I were able to bring their knowledge to their workplaces and share what they learned with others. Elaine Gross, President of Erase Racism, will also give thoughts on how to improve relationships and diversity in the workplace.

Employers and employees will leave with tips on increasing diversity in their workplace. A light supper will be served and there will be an opportunity for questions at throughout the night.
