The supplier accidentally gave the city water department “hydrochloric acid”, instead of “fluoride” to add to the water. Seems like it was caught in time, and no serious injuries. Though, it raises the issue of just how important the public water supply is, and should we be experimenting with dumping any chemicals into our water?
A local green from Long Island, Peggy, highly recommends the book “The Fluoride Deception” by Christopher Bryson, 2004, Seven Stories Press, New York. As Peggy notes in her review of the book: “Fluoride (90% of it) is a hazardous waste contaminated with arsenic and other impurities, scrubbed from smokestacks of Florida phosphate fertilizer mills…” Also, that it is debatable if ingesting fluoride–instead of putting it on one’s teeth–has any benefit. But, if it did, being ingested makes it a medication, and people should have to consent to be medicated.

New York State is 73% fluoridated; but Long Island is not. The NYS Department of Health accepted grant money from the Centers for Disease Control that requires they increase fluoridation in New York State. Be aware that dental groups in Nassau and Suffolk are already trying to get legislators to add fluoride chemicals into our water supplies.
Over 2,100 professionals urge Congress to halt fluoridation and hold hearings about why federal officials continue to endorse and promote water fluoridation in the fact of growing evidence of harm.

WOW! I just finished making a video about this very subject, that sillcoflurides (that are added to our water)is literally toxic waste, AND that there has never been a single test on a human being to determine if drinking it is safe. Check it out http://fluorideisbad.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/the-truth-about-hydrofluorosilicic-acid/
