  • Energy Audit Training Program LI Green is presently forming training programs to teach technically savvy people the skills needed to conduct home energy audits.  Classes will begin this fall and run for 4 to 6 weeks in evenings.  Costs for the program will be very modest.  Job opportunities may exist for graduates of this program to work as Community Energy Efficiency Technicians.  If you are interested in learning more please send a copy of your resume to auditclass@ligreen.com

  • PeaceSmiths Annual Fundraising Concert 2009 On Saturday, September 12th, PeaceSmiths will hold its annual Fundraising Concert at the First United Methodist Church, 25 Broadway(Route110), Amityville, NY.  The church is at the southmost end of Route 110 near Merrick Road (Montauk Highway), and is affectionately known as the last church on the left.  The evening’s performers include Mark Yodice; Ken “The Rocket” Korb and Lora Kendal; Jeff Curtis; Rich Stein’s “The Counterclockwise Ensemble” and “Easy Anthems.”  The night of music and dinner is available for a $25.00 donation. Live and Learn

  • Slow Food Huntington On Labor Day, September 7th, Slow Food Huntington and Starflower Experiences are hosting a community Eat-In (picnic) as part of Slow Food USA’s campaign calling for better school food. The campaign is called Time For Lunch and is part of a nation-wide day of action- over 250 eat-ins have been scheduled, so far, across the country. The Eat-In is going to take place at Manor Farm in Huntington (210 Manor Rd., Huntington) from noon till 4. We would be really pleased if you would join us.
