Obama Admin Rejects Timeout for Natural Gas Drilling in N.Y., Pa. – NYTimes.com.
The Obama administration has decided against pressing for a temporary halt to Marcellus Shale drilling in Pennsylvania and New York, a key federal official said.
Brig. Gen. Peter “Duke” DeLuca, commander of the North Atlantic Division of the Army Corps of Engineers, last week declined a request from Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-N.Y.) to use the federal government’s vote on the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) to seek a temporary ban on gas production in the Delaware watershed.

Not addressing fracking and calling natural gas ‘clean energy’ is a crime and the Obama administration must address this poisonous process. Clean for who??????
I agree Jerri its not clean for the everyday person or the environments we inhabit. I’m writing from Christchurch New Zealand and today we had the first major article on the dangers of fracking published in our biggest newspaper. A British company is in the process of setting up fracking project here in Canterbury, which is amazing considering our seismic activity and despite the concerns around links with fracking and earthquakes. And as for Obama, what a dissapointment he has been after the promising figure he seemed to be when he was elected. Oh well maybe I shouldn’t judge the guy to much, how hard must it be to make real change in such a place. Anyway back to fracking, the people in New Zealand are really starting to get vocal about it. My dream is that we become a “fracking free” country just like we are a nuclear free one.
