About the Keynote Speaker
Mary Dewar, R.N. is a retired nurse educator from Adelphi University , who has had 28 years of nursing experience in China , Angola , Zimbabwe , and Ghana , and president of the Long Island Coalition for a National Health Plan, an organization working to achieve single payer universal health care for all.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, volunteer organization working to promote political responsibility through the informed, active participation of citizens in government. The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate. It does support or oppose legislation after serious study and substantial agreement among its members.
