Wednesday Evening Crowd Estimate Update:
Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! said “tens of thousands”. Some press reports say the organizers claim “15,000”. Someone on Fox News said at least 7,000.

The official website for Occupy Wall Street is at:

To follow on Twitter, the main hashtags are:
#ows (a new one as of about 10/5)
AND
#OccupyWallStreet (Spelling out the word street. The alternate
one, #OccupyWallSt had far fewer hits when I checked.)
AND FOR DONATION/SUPPLY QUESTIONS
#needsofoccupiers
CORRECTION BELOW – It has been reported in The Guardian UK
that the Occupy Wall Street folks will be initiating their own
Live Stream coverage, starting tonight at 8pm.
New link should be here:

[CORRECTION! As of 10/8/2011 I have never seen video
at this site. I think it may have been a mini-coup or internal
temper tantrum that failed.-KW]
The Guardian UK’s live blogging reported the following:
“5.39pm: The march is now leaving Foley Square and heading for Zuccotti Park, site of the Occupy Wall Street demonstration. Russia Today news producer Lucy Kafanov tweets that Broadway is completely shut down, while our very own Paul Harris saysthat as thousands depart Foley Square there are still people arriving at the rear of the protest.”
Somewhere, it said that the police estimate 3,000 in Foley Square. That is not counting people still at Liberty Square/Zucotti Park, and people streaming in.
There is interesting banter on the Fox video feed. Not sure they knew they were on mic. Someone said he thought it was the biggest such gathering he had ever seen. At 6:03pm. FOX News is now reporting 7,000 people. “They are occupying a large portion of lower Manhattan”. Chamber Street blocked off.
