As part of Ian Wilder’s August 2012 week-long tour, he hosted the Saturday August 4, 2012 night portion of the Welcome to Boog City music and poetry festival at Brooklyn’s Unnameable Books. On Sunday, he and Kimberly Wilder performed in a Poetry Theatre piece at Manhattan’s Sidewalk Cafe.
This year’s Welcome to Boog City interspersed political speakers among the poets and musicians. One of the reasons that Ian Wilder was asked to host the Saturday night portion of the Welcome to Boog City Festival was that he helped book civil rights hero and Green Party US Senate candidate (NY) Colia Clark. Another reason was Ian’s association with Boog since its inception over 2 decades ago. here is a picture of Boog City publisher David A. Kirschenbaum at the Welcome to Boog City Saturday night reading.
