Top Kill is Dead: Comments on the Gulf Oil Blowout from a Geologist

A geologist suggests a better solution to BP than Top Kill. The better solution is: Drill 4 vertical relief wells around the existing Gulf of Mexico blowout well to reduce the pressure. He believes that will then allow BP to seal this well, once the pressure drops.

Geologist Chris Landau wrote this opinion piece. “Probable Cause and Scenario that led to the oil disaster in The Gulf of Mexico, when Offshore Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig, owned by Trans Ocean Ltd., and contracted to BP, explodes burns and sinks. Do not let this happen in Santa Barbara. One oil disaster there is big enough. Stop the drilling for oil into the 3000 mile Santa Barbara Fault Zone.”
